SO I’ve been using Recyclebank for a couple years now and I honestly like it a lot.
Basically there are random activities you can complete that will earn you points – you can then turn in those points for rewards. There are also a lot of good articles on recycling. As you can see from the picture above there is an activity that can give you 25 points for completing and the articles are listed under that. Generally there are a few different activities you can compete for points during the week – all you have to do is click on the activity to see what it is that needs to be done.
You can find different point earning activities by going to the home screen and clicking on “earn points”.
Above is a great example of an activity that I completed. It lists a lot of useful information about recycling and what it is that you can do to help. At the bottom it had a ‘Take the pledge’ button. Which I clicked on (that’s why it says points earned).
Other activities might include questions to see how much you actually know about recycling and others might be just learning facts by viewing something similar to above. I think this is a great way to help expand your knowledge on different ways to help recycle as well as earning you points along the way.
There is also a really cute shop called “one twine” that you can look at while on the site too!
Those points you earn can then be cashed in for a variety of different prizes. I personally usually cash in my points for high value coupons I know will use – or Magazine Subscriptions. I currently get Martha Stewart Living and Better Home & Gardens for absolutely free thanks to Recyclebank. Last year I had about 5 different magazine subscriptions thanks to this site – plus it does educate you on simple things you can do to help the environment.
