Hello Everyone!
If you follow my instagram I’m sure you know all about how I did for the after Halloween Clearance! Holiday Clearance is literally one of my favorite times to shop and it is a GREAT way to save money on items for the next year (provided you want to wait that long). The way I see it – you usually have to pack away your holiday decorations as it is – so it’s not like you now have to do something you weren’t already doing.
Basically any holiday (or end of season for that matter) will have a Clearance time – it’s just really easy to recognize when the holiday items will go on Clearance – because it is the day after the holiday (and sometimes the day of).
I’ve been a big after Christmas shopper for quite some time now – I will buy decorations/plates/napkins/and even some gifts for the next year the day after Christmas. I’ve bought entire Christmas trees (artificial – with lights on them – and tall) for $20 – literally saving a couple hundred!
The big time I bought a lot of stuff was the year before I was married – this is because I knew I wanted my own tree and my own decorations but I didn’t want to pay full retail. I went to town that year. This is another year I am going to town with all the items because we are expecting a baby girl in the next couple months. I don’t want to pay full price for the “My First (fill in the holiday)” bibs and clothes so I’m buying them now – at 50%-90% off and saving them for next year.
You can buy the arts & crafts items for your kids – costumes (I bough all my dogs costumes for next year – because they get a new costume every year). I found some great Cookie cutters and cake molds as well that I am very excited to use next year.
Plus there are stores (Michaels in particular) that literally had fall bake ware items and decorations on sale at 80% off already.
Generally speaking from my experience you can expect almost all holiday items to be 50% off the day after the holiday (they sometimes exclude food items – but you can always stack coupons on those clearance prices for the food items to drop the price more). About a week after that it will jump to about 70%-80% off and about two+ weeks after the holiday your generally in a good spot to see the 90% off deals! But always scan the product – sometimes the stores will not change the signs but they will change the price so items may ring up cheaper than they actually are priced at on the tags!
This is a great way to get the Holiday items you need a VERY cheap price! I saved well over $100 just with Halloween stuff this year – not even including the soon to come Thanksgiving items and Christmas Items.
Saved with this methods $100
Total Saved: $982
