Hello Everyone!
I have another GREAT way to help everyone save money! Utilize your local Gas Rewards. So many Gas stations offer rewards programs all by themselves. However I’m focusing more on the grocery store rewards program that the store offers you.
The two big ones where I am would be Kroger and Meijer. I know that Kroger offers you $0.10/gallon for up to 30 gallons for every $100 you spend in their store. These points do expire after a certain point if unused. Even so this point system is great because you can do your grocery shopping and get all the food you need for the month at the store and earn points off of the gas you would then get. Plus you can use it up to $1.00/per gallon for up to 30 gallons!
I know I get all of our meats at Kroger or at Meijer depending on the price – so my family uses this reward program to the fullest!
Now at Meijer it’s a bit different. You have to use their pharmacy in order to earn the rewards for gas. Sign up using their Mperks and activate your pharmacy rewards. Every time you pick up a prescription you earn 1 point. once you have 5 points in total (so 5 prescriptions) you can cash them in for different rewards – one of them being $0.50.gallon for up to 30 gallons.
I use both reward systems. If you think about it Kroger is much easier to earn at because if you have a grocery budget of at least $100/month and you spend it at Kroger you are saving yourself $0.10/gallon off of gas for doing nothing more than buying your groceries. Kroger is a lot of fun to coupon at too – I don’t always post the deals but they do often have some very good ones.
Lets work with a monthly budget of spending about $200/month on groceries at Kroger. This means you would save $0.20 per gallon for up to 30 gallons. This means you save a total of $6.00 per month which is about $72 for the year! Or you may use the Meijer rewards just using the Meijer rewards once would save you $15! If your liek my family you may even use a combination of the two and save even more!
But for the purposes of this post we will just say you save $55 – even though you can save much much more than that!
Saved with this methods $55
Total Saved: $782
