Hello, I’m Kristen! Welcome to my Savings and Lifestyle blog!
I am a Child of God, proud Wife to my Husband (Andrew), Mama to our Baby Girl and my three Fur Babies (Cici, Tank and Ozzy).
I was truly blessed to marry the love of my life and cannot wait to embark on the new journey of parenthood with him. I will admit that the first couple years I embraced the ‘newlywed’ status when a dinner went wrong (we quickly learned our smoke alarms worked!) and I still call my mom for help if I need it! (Love you Mom!) but that’s all part of life – you live and you learn.
So onto how this wonderful blog came to be! After Andrew proposed we took a good look at our combined finances (to set a budget for married life) and discovered that each month we were married we would be losing money.
This is what sent me on my journey to save money ANY way that I could. It allowed us to go from losing money, to living on an EXTREMELY tight budget (I’m talking squeezing yourself into skinny jeans tight!) to now just living on a (normally) tight budget.
I taught myself how to coupon (and often times I take it to an extreme level), I started stockpiling, I created a budget and a savings plan for both of us, and I hunted down every good deal I could find. With hard work, planning, and a TON of effort, we came up with a plan to cut costs.
Through all of this I learned that saving money doesn’t have to mean generic brands and no name clothing. It can mean name brands and even Designers!(YES I said designers!) I know it would have helped me out a TON if someone would have shown me all the tricks of the trade instead of going through the trial and error method. So I decided to start a blog to share what I learned (and still continue to learn) with others.
But I didn’t want to stop there – Come Save Away is all about saving – this means saving money and saving time! So I love sharing what I thought of products, or what I love to use, or even tasty dinner recipes! I’m not all about Coupons (although I do enjoy the thrill of a good couponing haul).
I hope you find good deals, fun projects, tasty recipes and Big Savings on my blog!
