A great Photography App – Photone Review!

December 30, 2015 by comesaveaway@gmail.com

Hello Everyone!

So I wanted to share one of my new favorite photography apps. It is called Photone! As many of you know I am also a Photographer and I do both landscape and lifestyle shoots and have been for about 4 years now.  As a photographer I always take pictures (almost to an annoying degree at times).  However I don’t always carry around my “Fancy Camera” as I call it (my Cannon 5D Mark II) I do always have my cell phone.

For any photographers out there – you know there truly is NO comparison between a cell phone photograph and one taken on a camera using full Manuel mode (which I always use because I want to dictate what the picture ends up looking like – no auto for me!).  This posed a problem because I always take photos but I do not always have my Fancy Camera.  Hence my love of this app.

There are 4 different types of “adjustments” you can make to your photos.  As you can see the middle picture is the original photo of my Husband and I and the options around it are the different types of adjustments you can make.

The far right picture is in the “MonoTone” adjustment.  Once you select that it will take you to a screen where you can choose between a variety of different filters (kind of like what you see on Instagram – but better!) The filter I selected was called “Cold Tea”.

The middle picture is under the “ProTone” adjustment.  Again once you select it there are a number of different filters.  I really like many of the filters under this adjustment because it allows you that artsy feel.  The filter I have selected is the “Faded Colors”.

The picture on the left is from the “ColorTone” adjustments.  These are great filters to help add warmth or coolness to the picture you want.  I know I love to de-saturate some of my pictures and that is why I choose the “Red Green” filter.

Last but not least is my all time favorite feature of this app.  The “Effects” adjustment.  Both pictures above are from this feature.  You can add Snow like the picture above on the right, or a lens flair like the picture on the left.  There are SOOO many other effects that I love as well – like the rain effect (similar to the snow – only with rain) and the sun beams (similar to the lens flair but with distinct beams showing in the photo).

This app allows me to add the extra umph to my cell phone photos that I take.  I know many people don’t have a “Fancy Camera” but this app does a pretty good job at allowing you to edit the pictures in a very cool way. #PhotoneApp
