Hello Everyone!
So I wanted to do something fun and different this weekend. I wanted to share five products I just have to have in my kitchen with all of you. My Husband and I plan on doing some Canning this weekend and I was somewhat inspired to share these products with you!
Without further ado….
1. Smart Weigh Digital Pro Pocket Scale: This is a must have for me in my kitchen – especially on my canning and meal planning days :) This scale allows you to weigh your food so you get the correct apportionment you need. This would help anyone who wants to monitor what they eat because you can weigh out your food and convert it to calories if you would like (you have to convert it to calories though). It has a super sleek design and fits right in with the stainless steel in my kitchen – plus I LOVE that is has the digital light on the screen – that certainly helps you out a ton.
2. Organic Chia Seeds: This is just one of those health food items I always make sure to have in my kitchen. When my Husband and I were trying to get pregnant I would make what I called a “fertility smoothie” – I had done a lot of research on the topic and what to put in these smoothies – and Organic Chia seeds was a MUST (lots of the Omega -3 fatty acids!). I would have a spoonful everyday in my morning smoothie (along with many other things – if anyone is interested in what I did to prep for being pregnant please let me know and I can do post on it). Chia seeds are for everyone though – there are so many nutritional and healing properties in them! This is something I ALWAYS have in my kitchen to use. I even put these in some meals I cook. I personally never taste them and my husband never realizes that I put these in food.
3. Peppermint Essential Oil: Peppermint oil is just another one of those products I make sure to always have. There are so many great qualities about peppermint oil (although you are not supposed to use it topically when you are pregnant – just an FYI for everyone). How I always would use it is topically – but I have to wait until after the baby arrives before I can use it topically again. It has great healing properties (kind of like icy-hot feeling) when you put it on sore muscles. If you put some on your stomach it can help settle a stomach and if you add some to your water it can also help with settling a stomach and also bad breath (that’s just an added bonus). When you use it topically be absolutely sure it is a pure oil (I’ve used this oil a few times topically and usually diffuse the one I linked to). Also it is worth noting that I am no doctor – so take what I am telling you as nothing more than my opinion and what has worked for me.
4.Garlic Press and Peeler Set: The Garlic Press is the focus here for me because if I’m being honest I have yet to figure out how to use the peeler. I have this set and I use it SOOO often it is almost ridiculous. I am a big garlic fan – and after attempting to cut garlic with a knife a couple times I quickly discovered the garlic press. Mostly because the garlic would make my hands smell like garlic for days – and depending on how much garlic I was using – it sometimes felt like it was stinging my hands. This garlic press is nothing short of amazing for my family – especially on days like this weekend. This weekend is homemade spaghetti sauce canning weekend (so look for a post on that in the future!) and we use garlic in our sauce – so this garlic press is super handy for getting all the garlic we need prepped done fairly quickly.
5. Yacon Syrup: Last but not least is the Yacon Syrup. This I use as a natural sweetener (I would put it in the smoothies I mentioned above). They syrup itself has so many great qualities – it can help lower your cholesterol and give your immune system a nice little boost as well. It does taste different – so take a spoonful and expect it to taste like a spoonful of sugar because it wont – but it does taste sweet and I like using it because I know it is better for you to use a natural sweetener over the basic white sugar.
That’s it – the 5 products I wanted to share that I absolutely have to have in my house at all times (there are obviously many more than the 5 – so there may be continuation posts of this). Hope you found it helpful and have a great weekend everyone! The Deal posts will be up tonight or tomorrow morning!
